MEET Don

Don Hosler is Tico Torres in Captain Crash, anchoring the band with the driving beat and groove that powered Bon Jovi’s biggest anthems. His drumming brings the energy, finesse, and power of Torres to life on stage, delivering the heartbeat of every performance.

Don first sat behind the kit at age 10, inspired by 70s icons like Kiss and Cheap Trick. With the arrival of the 80s, he found his role model in Kiss’s Eric Carr, shaping his hard-hitting double bass style on Carr’s powerhouse drumming.

Since the early 90s, Don has played in countless cover and original bands, opening for national acts including Cinderella, Firehouse, Nelson, and Blue Öyster Cult. A seasoned studio musician, he has recorded with bands like Runaway Train, Romeo, and Aslan, and released two original albums: Boardwalk of Broken Dreams (2001) and Taking Back the Power (2008). His recent work includes tribute projects to AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Mötley Crüe, and Ozzy Osbourne, as well as recording with Central PA’s Balistic on their concept album A Parsons Tale.

Now as Tico in Captain Crash, Don infuses the band with Bon Jovi’s signature groove and energy.

Performing Bon Jovi material and emulating Tico’s iconic drum licks has been a lot of fun and incredibly rewarding. I grew up on Bon Jovi and I can’t wait to bring it all to life on stage and take people back to the raw power and emotion of an 80s Bon Jovi concert!
