The project began as a long-held vision of frontman Shawn Boksan, who set out nearly two years ago to create a truly authentic Bon Jovi tribute show, one that didn’t rely on costumes or imitation, but on recreating the live Bon Jovi concert experience with real musicians, powerful vocals, and the soul of the original recordings.
Shawn spent eighteen months assembling the right lineup, beginning with guitarist Todd Bochenko, whose decades of experience in rock and deep influence from bands like Van Halen, Rush, and AC/DC made him the perfect fit for the role of Richie Sambora. Soon after came drummer Don Hosler, a seasoned musician whose precision, power, and feel naturally captured the heartbeat of Tico Torres. Finding the right bassist took time and many auditions, but the search ended when Shawn reconnected with Jason Miles, a musician whose gospel groove, funk sensibility, and rock edge brought the steady foundation needed to emulate Hugh McDonald’s driving low end. Despite having most of the core pieces in place early on, the biggest challenge was finding a keyboard player capable of delivering the soaring melodies, harmonies, and textures that define David Bryan’s signature sound. After an extensive search, Tim Powell joined the band, bringing fifty years of musical expertise and a background in classical, jazz, and rock that finally completed Shawn’s vision.
